JUNE 2013	RADIO LUXEMBOURG 208 MAGS FROM THE 1950's (FIVE ISSUES)	After some inactivity, a little more work has been going on in the background here at the dx archive. Plans are in progress to create pdf files with some old radio magazines, including Radio Luxembourg 208 mags from the 1950s. While there may be a gap between scanning and creating a decent pdf, the raw scans are going to be temporary available here of 5 issues.
JUNE 2013	NOVA 1982 PAGE	Added a few better res images on the Nova 1982 page, and removed a South Coast Radio studio image from the same page that was mixed up years ago.

MARCH 2013		Expanded the Scottish pages by adding a Radio Mercury page. This was a Glasgow FM station. Also created a new PDF listing which will be expanded in the coming weeks. This is linked via our "other" menu.

FEBRUARY 2013	RADIO NOVA DOWNLOADS	Added a further 14 old recordings from Nova from their early days, of various quality, from various tape machines. But we can't go back now and re record!! Initially file sizes were not listed for speed. Remember, please report broken links.
FEBRUARY 2013	RADIO NOVA DOWNLOADS	Added 5 recordings from early Nova, mainly recorded in Scotland bar the 1/1/82 tape I think. The dates are 29th June 82, 16th May 82, 3rd March 82, 19/8/81 (rec in Dublin) A few more to come from that time and then I believe all the recordings in the archives of early Nova will be on line. Of course more are welcome.
FEBRUARY 2013	VINTAGE WIRELESS PAGE	Added links to a few other pdf files, including the Coronation in 1937 broadcasts, from the Daily Record of Glasgow, Article of interest to offshore enthusiasts in 1924, an article about a pirate radio station in 1934, and an article about the Glasgow broadcast station 5SC.
FEBRUARY 2013	SCOTTISH PIRATES HOME PAGE	Added a load of pages about Scottish pirate radio of the past. This set of pages will again be added to as time and material comes to light. But at least there is a start made, after years of nothing!!
FEBRUARY 2013	RADIO NOVA HOME PAGE	Added a large EVENING HERALD page from 1981 featuring Radio Nova. Also still looking through the old tapes for early Nova recordings.
FEBRUARY 2013	SUNSHINE RADIO HOME PAGE	Added the rest of the set of large Sunshine Radio newspapers / reviews from 1983, as well as the 5th ann large style book. So all the Sunshine Review's, 1 - 4 are now downloadable as pdf's. The files sizes are kept quite high, to preserve quality. (This puts the A3 scanner to good use, other large items welcome)
FEBRUARY 2013	WATERFORD PIRATES	Added a round Crystal City sticker, and a decent res of the purple Suirside sticker.. Reinserted a couple of pages in the Suirside booklet that was uploaded the other day. The pages were short of text at the edges etc. Added new WLR sticker from a 10k run., Added another ABC QSL sheet from 1986, and a Suirside QSL sheet from 1981 showing the date of the new frequency of 227m.
FEBRUARY 2013	IRISH DOWNLOAD INDEX	Added a couple of gigs worth of recordings from the GH collection. These are from Caroline from the 1983/4 era, and from Ireland, NOVA, Q102, Sunshine 531, Capitol 1017, West 765, Westside 1035, ABC Tramore.

JANUARY 2013	WATERFORD PIRATES RADIO NOVA DOWNLOADS IRISH DOWNLOAD INDEX	Added a pdf of a Suirside Radio booklet, published in 1981, and scans supplied by Colin Kennedy. This has been on our wanted list for 31 years, after foolishly failing to pick one up in the station in 1981!! Added yet more Nova recordings to the early days of the station in 1981 and 1982!! At this rate, we are going to become efficient... lol Added another 10 Nova recordings made at long distance, from Scotland, from early days of 1981 and 1982. Some are overnight at New Year, and one even includes a link up with ARD!! Added a new Sunshine Radio Dublin recording, from 1981, and a Boyneside Radio recording from 1981, of Stewart Scott!!
JANUARY 2013	WATERFORD PIRATES	More Waterford material found in the archives, including further ABC photos that should be uploaded shortly. Added another recording of WLR from 1986, and a late night show from Crystal City from 1987, and NCR from 1988. Added a pdf of Crystal City material, as well as pdf from AUK over the course of late 1985 when Suirside closed and Crystal City opened.
JANUARY 2013	WATERFORD PIRATES	Added even more WLR, and Suirside and ABC items. ABC photos are on the photo page, where Suirside and WLR are on the main page.
JANUARY 2013	SONIC INDEPENDENT RADIO (home page) SONIC INDEPENDENT RADIO AUDIO	Added another four recordings of Sonic Independent Radio from Shankhill, Co Dublin. These have been recorded since May!! At least they are added now. A couple are from early logs of the station.
JANUARY 2013	WATERFORD PIRATES	To carry on with where we left off, Waterford Pirates have been honoured by having a direct link in the menu system!! We continue to add recordings of ABC and Suirside and WLR to the download section. There are massive improvements on the res of images on the ABC and Suirside pages, and WLR has many new unseen images added!!
JANUARY 2013	ABC HOME PAGE SUIRSIDE HOME PAGE WLR HOME PAGE IRISH DOWNLOAD INDEX	We have been finally updating the Waterford Pages on this site, shamed back to work again after the publication Radio Blaa Blaa published some of our poor res images. Have also been delving through the audio archives and found some recordings of Suirside, WLR and ABC. There was even one recording from GH from tape 483 marked as ABC, that was really South Coast Radio, so it has also been added to this archive, under South Coast. Also repaired a bad link for September 85 Anoraks UK files. It linked to Dec. Tnx Dave for pointing this out!!

SEPTEMBER 2012	RADIO SCOTLAND 242 HOME PAGE	Added a few images to the Radio Scotland 242 page, from an old newspaper, advertising a Radio Scotland competition!!
SEPTEMBER 2012	ATLANTIC 252 HOME PAGE	Added a few images to the Atlantic 252 page, including site, and advertising boards.
SEPTEMBER 2012	VINTAGE WIRELESS INDEX	Added a copy of Popular Wireless from July 1922 to the Vintage Wireless page.
SEPTEMBER 2012	VINTAGE WIRELESS INDEX	Added a copy of Amateur Wireless from January 1923, see Vintage Index page. There is a decent page about early transatlantic mw dxing.

AUGUST 2012	OFFSHORE DOWNLOADS	Changed one of the titles to one of the 1984 Caroline recordings, thanks to an email from Philip in Belguim, over a year ago!! May 2011 to be exact. Rediscovered the email and realised nothing had been done about it.

JULY 2012	AUK INDEX	The complete Anoraks UK Weekly Report collection is now on line as of 28th July. I think a pat on the back for a good few weeks work of long boring scanning and preparing files for the web etc!!!! The end result is a great piece of broadcasting history, which has been archived here. Files may be updated in the coming weeks. Bookmarks for example were forgotten till later on in the project. But the scans and the file names etc will remain. Any link errors should be reported!! Thanks to all those that have written with appreciative comments. That alone makes the work well worth it.
JULY 2012	VINTAGE WIRELESS INDEX	THE BOYS WIRELESS ANNUAL 1925 BY MICHAEL EGAN, is the latest vintage wireless offering here. It is around 82 meg to preserve quality. The book is pretty well advanced to be called a BOYS annual.
JULY 2012	AUK INDEX	UPDATE: Completed the issues available right up until the final issue from September 1989. The missing issues are promised for the last week in July. That could be described as a good week's work. Completed up to the end of 1988 with the AUK reports. Also receiving some assistance from Matt of the pirate archive web site regards to a few missing issues.
JULY 2012	AUK INDEX	Completed 1985 and 1986 Anoraks UK weekly reports now. All are in a decent resolution to preserve legibility. Gradually working our way to the full set. Some earlier issues are required from 1983 and 1984.

JUNE 2012	RADIO NEW YORK	During the discussions about the AUK sheets, we were talking about the benefits of having original newspaper cuttings to scan. The subject of THE VOICE came up, which was a New York weekly, that had a long article about Radio New York in 1987.
JUNE 2012	AUK INDEX	A lot of cropping and straightening etc has been done in the last couple of weeks, before adding a whole lot more Anoraks UK weekly reports to the site. As of 26th June, we have added all the reports we have so far from 1983, and 1984, as well as the full year of 1986. 1985 still has some gaps, but will be the next stage. The missing issues are also being sourced.
JUNE 2012	AUK INDEX	AFTER a successful few days hard scanning all the back issues of the Anoraks UK Weekly Report, they are gradually finding their way on line. We have started off in 1985 and 86. There are some random issues that were on line before, which will be removed when the monthly pdf files are created. But new for June is January - April 1986 so far, and adding.
JUNE 2012	DCR HOME PAGE	REPAIRED a DCR poster that has been on line since early 2012, with the bottom half missing.. Woops, and over sight there!!
JUNE 2012	RADIO GEMINI HOME PAGE	Added pdf files of the GEMINI GEMSHEETS. These were press clippings (photocopies). There are also sales lists, info sheets, and added some better res scans of stickers and QSL's to the page. There are also some Gemini Mini Posters, and links to some audio files on our download section.

APRIL 2012	SOUTHSIDE RADIO HOME PAGE	Added a T-SHIRT image from Southside Radio, and created a pdf of the ad rate cards. There is a badly needed increase in resolution due of many of the images on this site, which have been on line since the early days of the web as we know it.
APRIL 2012	SW PIRATE RECORDINGS	Added a few air checks of SW pirate Radio Rabbithole from 1983. This was Radio East Coast Commercial and Norman Nelson etc, hiding behind the name Radio Rabbithole. I don't think it was too hard to hear who it really was ..LOL.
APRIL 2012	SONIC INDEPENDENT RADIO (home page) SONIC INDEPENDENT RADIO AUDIO	Added audio from Sonic Independent Radio to aid a forth coming documentary about Sonic Independent Radio. Also uprated one or two of the photos on the home page, including the transmitter image from 1981,
MARCH 2012	DOWNLOAD PAGES	The various download pages that were thought to be all nicely indexed for the last week of so were in fact not!! If anyone out there notices broken links, please report them. The offshore page and Nova, Sunshine Kiss, West, as well as Rodney's collections, should all be working now. As of 7th March, there is one page to go, which will have to wait. Dinner date!! UPDATE: OK, All done I think. Please report broken links.
MARCH 2012	OFFSHORE DOWNLOADS PAGE	Added about 10 gigs of recordings to the offshore index page, of long reel to reel tapes of Caroline 1990 / 89, as well as Laser 558 / 576. These were recorded by Steve West about 160 miles from the ships, and are of variable quality, though unique recordings that have never been circulated.
MARCH 2012	Radio Scotland LP Page	Added some decent scans of the Radio Scotland LP and labels after finding an album on ebay. The audio file hasn't changed though.

FEBRUARY 2012:

UPDATE 1st MARCH: Think that the restructure work of the audio downloads is as good as finished. Anyone that finds any broken links, please advise. There were a few missing files that need finding again, and uploaded. Updates will be listed here.

Back at work again here at the DX ARCHIVE, after a long break. The structure of the audio files on this site are being reorganised, meaning first of all that all versions of the site will be navigable from any local hard drive. As the site is around 50 - 60 gig at this stage, it will certainly not be able to be copied to a CD any longer!!

This means though that there won't be audio files scattered on different servers, and all the files will be kept together and linked, and will play from the html pages even from a pc not connected to the web. For convenience, this was not the case in the past.

Initially enthusiasts may have to trawl through root files, much like az Anorak, but we hope to have a full indexed system soon, which gives us the opportunity to make comments on any of the recordings that have any comments to be made. Sometimes you can't manage all the details on the file names, and we have a tendency to avoid using the id3 tags.

On the other hand, Rodney N has his collection, or at least some of it, archived alongside our own material. Rod makes extensive use of the ID3 tag.

FEBRUARY 2011 Radio Caroline 20th Ann Book
Radio Caroline 20th Ann book, published by Monitor Magazine. Long out of print, and rare. Let's hope there is no one objects to this one. There isn't really anyone to ask. And the Monitor project on line seems to have come to a halt. It is a 50 meg pdf file, so quite a large download, in order to preserve quality.

FEBRUARY 2011 Radio Nova Home Page Added a Radio Nova sun visor from 846kHz days. ie an early sunstrip. Also added a scripf from 1983 in a pdf of Dublin Today.

FEBRUARY 2011 Radio Caroline 60's page Added a 1964 booklet about Radio Caroline from the early days, as well as some membership cards and press release from Frank. This material is pretty rare we feel. Enjoy.

JANUARY 2011 Been adding links to the A/Z index of Irish Pirates on various station home pages. Many never had a backwards "in your face" type link. The all have the pop up / navigation menu of course.

JANUARY 2011 KELO HOME PAGE
Added photos and high res images of the crap scans that were on line for years on the KELO page. In the background, a load of old KELO recordings have been transferred to mp3, and will be available shortly.

The plan is to go through each page with poor res images and uprate them. It does all take time, loads of time. But work is in progress.

Re added the Community Radio Drogheda pdf which seems to have vanished in the upheaval a few months ago and has only just been noticed absent. Also was advised of an article about the early days of wireless on the Mull of Kintyre had vanished as well. Both we are happy to say have been reloaded. Please do help the archive by reporting broken links.

JANUARY 2011 County Donegal Pirates Index
Working on various County Donegal stations, and trying to provide a dx clip for many of them, ie a recording made in the UK. Updated Radio Nova Fahan, KTOK, Glencoe Radio, North Atlantic Radio, and the Donegal County index page.

JANUARY 2011 ANORAKS UK WEEKLY REPORTS
Added a few Anoraks UK weekly reports while searching through them for dates and frequencies. Ended up uploading an initial 12 or so issues from the end of 1985. These sheets are such a mine of information from 20 odd years ago, that they are worth while uploding the entire collection.Obviously that will take some time, but a task we must try and get torn into this coming few weeks.

JANUARY 2011 RADIO SWEDEN HOME PAGE
Also finally found the old Sweden Calling DXers theme tune. It does not include the continuity announcement between news and SCDX, but better than nothing. The clip is from 1981, and includes a report about Radio Caroline due back on 1st September 1981!!! It was nearly two years later when they finally made it back to the air. Also added a printed version of SCDX bulletin that used to be mailed out to dxers. The printed bulletin included sinking of the Mi Amigo.

Added a few items from Radio Sweden, including QSL CARDS, and posters and an old audio tape from the Radio Sweden Saturday Show.

It was pointed out that a pdf file had been moved from the Vintage Wireless section. WOOPS. This must have been a dead link since the site was reorganised last year. PDF reinstated. Tnx to Graham. Also added a few more links to pdfs within the MW DX sister site. These are to vintage booklets etc. The Burrows book from 1924 is worth a read.

JANUARY 2011 NWCR HOME PAGE Inserted a few new images on the NWCR page, from Buncrana, Co Donegal. The station was well heard in the UK. Also found an older white sticker with 1 mf freq.

DECEMBER 2010 BIG L HOME PAGE Inserted a much better scan of the BIG L QSL card from Limerick in South West Ireland. The original watery scan had been there for years.

DECEMBER 2010 ABC TRAMORE (Waterford Post March 83) ABC TRAMORE first anniversary - From the Waterford Post in March 1982. This was originally on a bad quality jpg from years ago, now replaced by a proper scan from the original paper.

Sunshine QSL sheets Added a letter about the closure of Sunshine Radio (Portmarnock / Dublin) from June 1988. (Direct link to pdf file), and a couple of Sunshine QSL sheets, one from 1981, and one from 1988. Also a Sands Hotel piece of headed paper is included on the same page.

DECEMBER 2010 RADIO SCOTLAND AUDIO Added a rarer Richard Park rec of Radio Scotland. I wish we could source the original tapes from these reccordings. They must be 20th generation copies.....

DECEMBER 2010 LIBERTY 104 HOME PAGE ADDED A PAGE AND VARIOUS PHOTOS AND IMAGES CONNECTED WITH LLCR. LIBERTY 104, a 1980's Dublin station.

Added two Radio Scotland Showbeat magazines from December 1966, and January 1967. The files are around 30 meg. The file size is kept quite large to preserve quality. Thanks to Richard Crichton of Glenrothes for the loan of the originals.

Added a pdf of an A4 sheet which was kinda folded into three, but much of the cardboard sheet had to be turned around and around again to view, so it is reproduced as a pdf.

Added a Winton Research radio survey for Dublin from 1987. This research shows Sunshine 101 well out in front. I guess this was the one that Sunshine organised???

DECEMBER 2010 RADIO CAROLINE - 1960's Added a 1960's Radio Caroline booklet as a pdf, as well as some other items from the archives from the 1960's.

DECEMBER 2010 RADIO NOVA HOME PAGE Added a 1983 Radio Nova Rosette, and a 2002 Radio Nova interview with Chris Cary from Hot Press by Stuart Clarke. The article contains inaccurate information, eg the date of the raid. Also added an old logo of WIRL 1290 from the states. The logo is very similar to NOVA's. Also added the article about Chris Cary - NO MORE MR NICE GUY!!

Bear with us. Been scanning a load of slides loaned from Steve West, who made three country wide trips in the 80's. 86, 87, 88. Another long task, but worth while archiving for sure.

2010 has certainly been the most active year as far as fixing out navigation and smartening up this site.

Noted a few errors in the work over the last couple of weeks, not least a link to WKLR full sized poster not included. It is now. Also been adding more entries to the all time MW logs, and even included a section for other interesting dx.

AUK IRISH FREQUENCY LIST JULY 1988

Happily all the Irish A/Z files are at least some way semi respectable looking now, and we seem to have got rid of the various menu systems we had over the years, and replaced it with the current navigation system across the board. It has been a long boring task, completing all these pages to our satisfaction, but to be perfectly honect, a well needed upgrade, from the rough and ready approach we used here for many years.

We are now open to contributions from anyone that has material and knowledge to add. We have been promised some slides from a dude who made at least three trips to the republic in the 80's and each time made a major tour of the radio stations. Let's hope he comes good with them, as it would be a pity not to share.

Still hammering through the complete Irish pirates A/Z pages, and in fact can see the light at the end of the tunnel, as we near completion of phase 1 of the major upgrade to this site. Phase 1 includes the site navigation menu at the top of each and every page, and getting rid of all the big baby 3d square buttons we used to use. Phase 2 includes getting rid of a lot of the really bad quality scans, which were designed for dial up speeds, and included photos and QSL cards of 8k etc. We will soldier on.

Various A/Z files had to be adjusted, due to some stray code, and Community Radio Drogheda links mysteriously appearing. Well not so mysterious. There was a stray link in a template file!! But all sorted and repaired now.

Been working through a lot of the A-Z of the Irish pirates, tidying up their pages. Many of the A/Z had little or nothing on them so far, and have been like this for many years. But gradually they will be updated with many of the scans which have been in the archives for many years. The stations home pages that I have started with are the ones associated with a 1981 tour of Ireland.

The stations that have been sorted out include -

WABC, Carousel, Boyneside, Radio Sligo, North West Drumshanbo, Nova, Capital Cork, City Cork, City Dublin, Carol Ann Athlone, Big L Limerick, WCLR Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Big D, Community Radio Youghal, Waterford Local Radio, Suirside Radio Waterford, Radio Carrick, KCR Kildare, WKRC Newbridge, Tipperary Community Radio, KELO Swords, Southside Radio, Sonic, BLB, Sunshine, ARD, Diamond Radio, Dublin Community Radio, Radio Dublin, Double R Radio, TTTR, Radio Leinster, ABC Tramore, CBC Clonmel, Westside Radio, and a few others.

This is an on going proccess, and after the pages are modernised with the pop up menus, the images will be beefed up to a decent res of the image. When we started this project back in 1996, scans were 8k etc for an image designed for dial up connections. Now our real aim is to provide a decent quality archive.

Also been working on some of the other Irish A/Z pages, which will be a home page for every station, and links going from that. Time Time Time. But at least the work is getting done gradually. Added PDF of Caroline's 1978 advertising rates

Added a 5.7 meg pdf file of the ad rates that were sent out from A321, Rosas, Gerona, Spain, in the late 1970's. The large blue booklet had an insert of an ad rate card, which is placed at the end of the pdf.

Once again, link takes you to an index rather than a large pdf file.

Added "SUNSHINE 1 YEAR ON" and upgraded Daily Mail article.

Added an old typed 10 page sheet which was circulated from the PO Box 539, Blackpool address which Sunshine used. The file size is relatively high to preserve legibility on this old faded bunch of sheets. 11 meg pdf document. Link to the Sunshine Radio home page rather than the 11 meg pdf file.

Also upgraded the Daily Mail article from 1981 about Sunshine Radio. The original file was a little poor, and lacking res. Like many of our older files, they were cut and compressed for faster dial up speeds, rather than of archival quality. The whole site should eventually be upgraded to decent res photos and decent res recordings.

JANUARY 2011	KELO HOME PAGE	Added photos and high res images of the crap scans that were on line for years on the KELO page. In the background, a load of old KELO recordings have been transferred to mp3, and will be available shortly. The plan is to go through each page with poor res images and uprate them. It does all take time, loads of time. But work is in progress.
JANUARY 2011		Re added the Community Radio Drogheda pdf which seems to have vanished in the upheaval a few months ago and has only just been noticed absent. Also was advised of an article about the early days of wireless on the Mull of Kintyre had vanished as well. Both we are happy to say have been reloaded. JANUARY 2011	County Donegal Pirates Index	Working on various County Donegal stations, and trying to provide a dx clip for many of them, ie a recording made in the UK. Updated Radio Nova Fahan, KTOK, Glencoe Radio, North Atlantic Radio, and the Donegal County index page.
JANUARY 2011	ANORAKS UK WEEKLY REPORTS	Added a few Anoraks UK weekly reports while searching through them for dates and frequencies. Ended up uploading an initial 12 or so issues from the end of 1985. These sheets are such a mine of information from 20 odd years ago, that they are worth while uploding the entire collection.Obviously that will take some time, but a task we must try and get torn into this coming few weeks.
JANUARY 2011	RADIO SWEDEN HOME PAGE	Also finally found the old Sweden Calling DXers theme tune. It does not include the continuity announcement between news and SCDX, but better than nothing. The clip is from 1981, and includes a report about Radio Caroline due back on 1st September 1981!!! It was nearly two years later when they finally made it back to the air. Also added a printed version of SCDX bulletin that used to be mailed out to dxers. The printed bulletin included sinking of the Mi Amigo. Added a few items from Radio Sweden, including QSL CARDS, and posters and an old audio tape from the Radio Sweden Saturday Show.

The article contains inaccurate information, eg the date of the raid. Also added an old logo of WIRL 1290 from the states. The logo is very similar to NOVA's. NOVEMBER 2010		Happily all the Irish A/Z files are at least some way semi respectable looking now, and we seem to have got rid of the various menu systems we had over the years, and replaced it with the current navigation system across the board. It has been a long boring task, completing all these pages to our satisfaction, but to be perfectly honect, a well needed upgrade, from the rough and ready approach we used here for many years. We are now open to contributions from anyone that has material and knowledge to add. We have been promised some slides from a dude who made at least three trips to the republic in the 80's and each time made a major tour of the radio stations. Let's hope he comes good with them, as it would be a pity not to share.
NOVEMBER 2010		Still hammering through the complete Irish pirates A/Z pages, and in fact can see the light at the end of the tunnel, as we near completion of phase 1 of the major upgrade to this site. Phase 1 includes the site navigation menu at the top of each and every page, and getting rid of all the big baby 3d square buttons we used to use. Phase 2 includes getting rid of a lot of the really bad quality scans, which were designed for dial up speeds, and included photos and QSL cards of 8k etc. We will soldier on.
NOVEMBER 2010		Various A/Z files had to be adjusted, due to some stray code, and Community Radio Drogheda links mysteriously appearing. Well not so mysterious. There was a stray link in a template file!! But all sorted and repaired now.
NOVEMBER 2010	WABC HOME PAGE	Repaired the spelling site wide of BALLAGHADERREEN, spelt wrong since day one of this web site!!!! Almost got in a mess by replacing all the links with upper case first letter, and hence links in the source code wouldn't work. But anyway, they all seem to work fine now. Please do report broken links though.

NOVEMBER 2010	IRISH FREQUENCY LISTINGS MERSEYSIDE FREQ LIST	Updated listings pages with site navigation, and started a frequency page of Irish pirates. Long project. Also adjusted the Merseyside frequency listings.
NOVEMBER 2010	RADIO WEST (MULLINGAR) ERI (CORK) KISS FM (MONAGHAN)	Repaired and modernised three of the stations with multiple sub sections and pages. KISS Monaghan, ERI, and Radio West. Most of the stations left to adjust and insert the site wide pop up menu now will be single pages in the A/Z of Irish pirates. The work is certainly being caught up with after many years dormant.
NOVEMBER 2010	RADIO DUBLIN HOME PAGE	Added a full size Radio Dublin poster from 1983, the ones that were carried around during the march in support of the pirates in May 1983, after the raids.
NOVEMBER 2010	A/Z IRISH PIRATES	Deleted about 25 blank pages and removed links to these pages, titled as irish_a_to_z_irish_pirates_xxxxx. These were empty pages, created along with the A/Z, but have remained empty for years. We will replace them with pages with content, when time permits, and content is available.

This allows us to reduce file numbers on the server and replace around 200 files by about 20 pdf's!!! Also used higher res scans for the Sounds Alternative Mags. This upgrading of res of audio, photos etc will gradually happen in the coming months. The site has been stagnant too long with out old 1996 scans of 8k, designed for dial up!!

NOVEMBER 2010	Added a full sized poster to NWCR page	This poster is a great piece of artwork, and a great memory from the 1980's. We have reproduced a full sized poster here of about 4.7 meg, and would probably reprint great in poster size if you take the jpg to a pro printer.
NOVEMBER 2010		Been working through a lot of the A-Z of the Irish pirates, tidying up their pages. Many of the A/Z had little or nothing on them so far, and have been like this for many years. But gradually they will be updated with many of the scans which have been in the archives for many years. The stations home pages that I have started with are the ones associated with a 1981 tour of Ireland. The stations that have been sorted out include - WABC, Carousel, Boyneside, Radio Sligo, North West Drumshanbo, Nova, Capital Cork, City Cork, City Dublin, Carol Ann Athlone, Big L Limerick, WCLR Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Big D, Community Radio Youghal, Waterford Local Radio, Suirside Radio Waterford, Radio Carrick, KCR Kildare, WKRC Newbridge, Tipperary Community Radio, KELO Swords, Southside Radio, Sonic, BLB, Sunshine, ARD, Diamond Radio, Dublin Community Radio, Radio Dublin, Double R Radio, TTTR, Radio Leinster, ABC Tramore, CBC Clonmel, Westside Radio, and a few others. This is an on going proccess, and after the pages are modernised with the pop up menus, the images will be beefed up to a decent res of the image. When we started this project back in 1996, scans were 8k etc for an image designed for dial up connections. Now our real aim is to provide a decent quality archive. Bear with us.
OCTOBER 2010		Been working for a while on the pages of the 1981 Irish tour, and now instead of 40 separate html files, the story is in two parts. Also been working on some of the other Irish A/Z pages, which will be a home page for every station, and links going from that. Time Time Time. But at least the work is getting done gradually. OCTOBER 2010	Added pdf file of Laser 558 advertising brochure/ folder	The brochure was more of a folder with loose sheets inside and a smaller insert, which is at the end of the pdf file. Again link takes you to an index page, which in this case is still very scarce of entries.
OCTOBER 2010	Added PDF of Caroline's 1978 advertising rates	Added a 5.7 meg pdf file of the ad rates that were sent out from A321, Rosas, Gerona, Spain, in the late 1970's. The large blue booklet had an insert of an ad rate card, which is placed at the end of the pdf. Once again, link takes you to an index rather than a large pdf file.
OCTOBER 2010	Added "SUNSHINE 1 YEAR ON" and upgraded Daily Mail article.	Added an old typed 10 page sheet which was circulated from the PO Box 539, Blackpool address which Sunshine used. The file size is relatively high to preserve legibility on this old faded bunch of sheets. 11 meg pdf document. Link to the Sunshine Radio home page rather than the 11 meg pdf file. Also upgraded the Daily Mail article from 1981 about Sunshine Radio. The original file was a little poor, and lacking res. Like many of our older files, they were cut and compressed for faster dial up speeds, rather than of archival quality. The whole site should eventually be upgraded to decent res photos and decent res recordings.

OCTOBER 2010	RADIO BROD: Added Newsweek article about Radio Brod. 1993	Added an excellent and detailed article on Radio Brod, the station from the high seas off the coast of Croatia in 1993. The signals reached the UK at night, on 720kHz.
OCTOBER 2010	ARD PAGES UPDATED	Modernised the ARD pages, and added high res image of the Crofton in the 1981 photo gallery.
OCTOBER 2010	GENERAL UPDATES	VARIOUS OLD REDUNDANT BITS OF HTML CODE REMOVED FROM VARIOUS PAGES, although no real difference will be seen by web users.
