Radio Wombat are believed to have commenced broadcasts during 1981, and by 1982 could be heard over a large area of the North West on 1242kHz. In the recording below from July 1982, Pete James mentions a Radio Wombat infosheet which would be number 2. The first one was apparently published in the previous January. We do not have either of these in our collection. Presenters on the station included Willy Wombat, Mike Doyle, John Brandt, Alan Jones and Pete James.
