PHOTOS FROM A 1982 VISIT TO BOYNESIDE RADIO

Back in 1982, were were impressed with the Boyneside Television and Radio studios. There may be an old recording somewhere of the TV soundtrack, I am not too sure. None of us had in any way a decent camera to take a snap shot off air of the TV station, far less a video tape. The best we have is shown below.

Immediately below is the "VHS" TV studio. The equipment was still very expensive in those days, and few people had any form of video camera.

Left: Tony Davis, the gentleman behind Boyneside Television.

Right, a friend of the writer, also from Scotland - "Big Davie". Davie was a character, and later on that week, we were made more than welcome in Waterford at Suirside Radio, where we spent a few days in the pub with Steve Silby etc.

Sadly Davie died at at the very young age of 38 only a short time after remarrying, and well before his three score years and ten.

The camera I had then was hopeless for taking images from the television. You can just about see the presenter's tie and the background curtain in this poor image.
